The house is located in the village of Vresthena, Southern Greece, in the mountainous part of Parnonas. Most homes in the village were built between 1960 and 1980, usually without any distinctive architectural features and mostly adopting the functions and characteristics of older stone buildings.

The new home was designed with attention to modern requirements for living, form, and function. The chosen design compliments the stone structure of the existing building, and fits nicely into the layout of the overall village.

Another aspect of the project is an extension of the home made out of steel and glass, which houses the living and dining rooms. The steel construction clearly distinguishes the new addition to the home while also mixing elements of the 1980s (concrete beams and columns) in the interior. The beams gradually decrease in height to create a terrace on the top floor. The glass allows the room to open up to the surrounding landscape.
